While at Louisiana Tech University I expanded my study of design with a focus on business management and entrepreneurship. I have 90 hours (135 semester hours) towards a bachelors in Business Administration. My studies ranged from marketing and economics to writing business plans. Outside of the classroom my two main business focuses were ABESE & Optical Fire Studios. - ABESE - The ABESE board provides student entrepreneurs with an opportunity to organize and raise capital for their own business ventures by running the annual Top Dawg Business Plan Competition. Students compete in a multi stage new venture competition in which they are judged on the level of innovation, financial data, market research, presentation skills, market size and competition, and the overall viability of the proposed startup. Through ABESE I have gained a greater understanding of the process required turn a business idea into a operational corporation. Additionally I have experience working with a diverse team to organize, raise funding, and promote successful events. New executive board members are selected through an interview process and must be approved by the CEO and currently seated board members. The six person board is responsible for every aspect of the competition - from bringing in business professionals to judge to promoting awareness to current students. - Optical Fire Studios, LLC - At OFS we have staff that specialize in specific areas such as coding, but I have worked in nearly every position on at least one project. I have experience with basic coding in php and working with mySQL data bases. I direct and edit our video projects. Working with OFS has provided me an opportunity to try many different roles and gain experience with different mediums.
